Large Cinereous Cockroach
Henschoutedenia flexivitta
The large cinereous cockroach is a sizable African roach also known in the hobby as the giant lobster roach. Although it resembles a larger lobster cockroach, it is more closely related to Rhyparobia. Adults can produce a squeaking sound when disturbed. Specialist colonies use sheltered organic substrate, ventilation and varied food with access to moisture. Females release live young. All stages climb smooth surfaces, so a tight lid and fine vents are important.
