Least Yellow Cockroach
Cariblatta minima
The least yellow cockroach is a tiny Cariblatta maintained by specialist breeders, also called the mini yellow roach. Formerly treated as a form of the small yellow cockroach, it is now recognized as a separate species. Established captive stock includes animals from southern Florida. Colonies need warm, well-ventilated housing, leaf shelters and access to moisture without stagnant, saturated conditions.
Females lay egg cases. Its tiny size makes secure, finely screened openings especially important. Adult females have short forewings that leave the patterned rear abdomen exposed.
