Super Hypo
Super Hypo leopard geckos are selected for a body with little to no dark spotting, often leaving a cleaner yellow, orange, or tangerine appearance than a normal leopard gecko. Spots may still remain on the head or tail, and the exact threshold for super hypo labeling can vary between breeders. The trait is generally treated as line-bred color and pattern refinement rather than a single simple switch, so quality depends on selection across related animals.
The husbandry is ordinary leopard gecko care, with attention to healthy weight, good sheds, and strong feeding rather than color alone. Super Hypo animals are commonly combined with tangerine, carrot tail, albino, or giant lines, which can make labels long and sometimes confusing. Clear photos of the body, head, and tail are useful for buyers. Breeders should avoid implying that reduced spotting proves a hidden genotype unless they have parentage or breeding results to support it.
