Unknown Morph
Unknown morph describes a leopard gecko whose color or pattern background is not known. It may look normal, hypo, albino, snow, tangerine, or mixed, but without parent information or reliable breeding history the safest label is unknown. This is common with rehomed pets, rescues, older animals from casual breeders, and geckos whose visible traits have changed with age or shedding condition.
For care, an unknown morph gecko should be treated like any other leopard gecko: secure enclosure, correct heat, hides, a humid shed area, calcium, and suitable insects. For breeding, unknown means the animal may carry hidden recessive traits or may not be what it appears to be visually. Many keepers choose not to breed unknown morph geckos and instead value them as pets. When selling or transferring one, good photos and honest uncertainty protect both the animal and the next owner.
