Dwarf Wood Scorpion
Liocheles australasiae
The dwarf wood scorpion is a small, flattened brown species found across tropical Asia and the western Pacific. Its broad pincers, slender tail and flattened body suit narrow spaces beneath bark and inside decaying wood. Hobbyists keep it in tightly sealed enclosures with bark retreats, moisture-retaining substrate, ventilation and water; tiny young can escape through small gaps.
Many populations reproduce without males, although males exist in some areas. Females give birth to live young. Avoid handling this delicate animal.
