Mauru Tree Snail
Partula varia
The Mauru tree snail is native to Huahine in French Polynesia. Its small ovate-conical shell is variable, and neither a color nor a banding pattern identifies every individual. Zoo conservation colonies supply reintroduction work on Huahine. Like other Partula snails, it gives birth to live young. Managed care provides humid, ventilated housing, climbing surfaces, careful hygiene and a calcium-containing prepared diet.
