Thai Zebra Tarantula
Melopoeus albostriatus
The Thai zebra tarantula is a burrowing species recorded from Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia. Pale lengthwise stripes and joint rings stand out against the dark legs, while the abdomen carries darker chevrons. Older labels use Haplopelma albostriatum or Cyriopagopus albostriatus. Specialist hobbyists provide a secure, ventilated enclosure with deep diggable substrate, a moist area and drinking water. It spends much of its time in a silk-lined burrow and should not be handled. Females produce silk egg sacs.
