Morelet's Leaf Frog
Agalychnis moreletii
Morelet's leaf frog inhabits forests from southern Mexico into Central America and is kept in zoo conservation programs and specialist collections. Adults have green backs, dark eyes and orange flanks. Keepers provide tall planted enclosures, branches, clean water, supplemented insects and cooler nights. Ventilation lets resting leaves dry between mistings; constant hot, wet conditions are unsuitable. Females lay eggs on leaves above water, where the tadpoles fall after hatching.
