Mossy Bug-Eyed Frog
Theloderma corticale
The Vietnamese mossy frog inhabits cool, wet forest in northern Vietnam and nearby southern China. Green and dark mottling over knobby skin makes it resemble a mossy rock. Specialist hobbyists provide cool, humid enclosures with clean filtered water, land refuges, climbing cover and supplemented insects. It lays eggs near water, and larvae develop in pools. The green mosslike texture distinguishes it from the sharply black-and-white Malayan pied warted tree frog.
