Mozambique Golden Starburst Baboon Tarantula
Augacephalus ezendami
The Mozambique golden starburst baboon tarantula is a ground-dwelling species from Mozambique. Females have a golden radial pattern on the carapace and strong, hairy front legs. Although formerly placed in Ceratogyrus, it lacks a horn and now belongs to Augacephalus. Experienced hobbyists provide a secure, ventilated enclosure with deep substrate, a starter retreat and drinking water. Avoid handling this fast, defensive spider. Females lay eggs in a suspended silk sac.
