Northern Talapoin Monkey
Miopithecus ogouensis
The northern talapoin is a very small African monkey with a greenish-gray back, white belly and pale pink face. Groups live around forest waterways, traveling through trees and eating fruit, seeds, insects and other small foods. Zoo care uses secure climbing space, social companions and sheltered sleeping areas. Females bear live infants. Its pale face distinguishes it from the darker-faced southern talapoin. US primate-import restrictions apply.
