Owl-Faced Monkey
Cercopithecus hamlyni
The owl-faced monkey, also called Hamlyn's monkey, is a Central African forest primate with an olive-gray back, dark limbs and a pale T-shaped marking across the brow and down the nose. It feeds on leaves, shoots and fruit, including bamboo shoots where available. Zoo collections maintain social groups with climbing cover; females bear live young. US primate-import restrictions apply. The facial T distinguishes it from the long pale beard and forehead band of the Roloway monkey.
