Pallid Cockroach
Phoetalia pallida
The pallid cockroach is a small species widely bred as a feeder and kept by roach enthusiasts. Colonies grow readily under warm conditions and can use a drier substrate surface than its name or a tropical origin might suggest. Housing needs shelters, ventilation, varied food and reliable access to moisture. Females retain their egg cases and release live young. Adults climb particularly well and may fly, making a tight lid and finely screened openings important.
