Panesthia angustipennis

Panesthia angustipennis is a sturdy wood-feeding cockroach from tropical Asia, maintained by specialist breeders. Adults are dark and winged, unlike the more colorful young of some captive forms. Colonies need a continuing supply of suitable white-rotted wood, moist substrate and ventilation; the wood supplies both food and shelter. Females retain their egg cases and release live young. The subspecies cognata, including captive stock from Laos, has its own form entry.
