Pennsylvanian Wood Cockroach
Parcoblatta pennsylvanica
The Pennsylvanian wood cockroach is a North American Parcoblatta kept by native-roach enthusiasts. Males are fully winged and females have shorter wings; southern captive lines can be much darker than familiar northern animals. Colonies use bark, leaf litter, organic substrate, ventilation and access to moisture and varied food. Females lay egg cases. Adult males can fly and both sexes climb, so secure containment is important. Color and size vary between populations.
