Peruvian Black-Head Roach
Blaberus parabolicus
The Peruvian black-head roach is a large, robust Blaberus maintained by specialist breeders. Captive lines include stock associated with Colombia, despite the common name. Adults resemble enlarged discoid roaches, while the young can show purple and burgundy tones. Colonies use sheltered organic substrate, ventilation, access to moisture and varied food. Females retain their egg cases and release live young. Reliable stock history is important because external appearance overlaps related Blaberus.
