Peruvian Green Velvet Tarantula
Ewok pruriens
The Peruvian green velvet tarantula is a Peruvian species moved from Thrixopelma to Ewok in 2025. Earlier accounts sometimes gave Chile as its origin, but the World Spider Catalog rejects that range. Olive or greenish tones underlie its hobby name; breeder and locality records matter more than color alone. Provide secure, ventilated ground-level housing with substrate, a retreat and drinking water. Offer appropriately sized insects and avoid handling. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
