Vietnamese Potbelly
Vietnamese potbelly is another common name for the Vietnamese pot-bellied pig, the compact Asian pig popularized as a companion animal. The type has a low body, rounded belly, short snout, and sturdy build. It may be kept as a pet, educational animal, or small homestead pig, but it is not the same thing as a guaranteed miniature or teacup animal.
Responsible potbelly ownership means planning for a strong adult pig with social and environmental needs. These pigs need a pig-safe yard or pen, shade, dry bedding, rooting opportunities, and feed measured carefully to avoid obesity. Breeding should be done cautiously, since rescues already see many unwanted pet pigs. When choosing a piglet, adult relatives and breeder honesty are better guides than labels promising unusually small size.
