Bohemian Tumbler
The Bohemian Tumbler is a tumbler pigeon from the Czech lands, developed within a region rich in local flying and exhibition breeds. As a tumbler, it is related to pigeons historically selected for aerial turning or rolling, though modern lines may be more show-focused. Bohemian standards often pay close attention to head, beak, markings, station, and compact type.
Management depends on whether the birds are flown or kept mainly for exhibition. Flying lines need gradual conditioning and selection for safe performance, while show lines need careful feather care, bathing, and calm handling. Breeders should avoid losing vigor while chasing a very refined head or marking. Clear source records are useful because many Central European tumbler breeds have similar names but different local standards.
