Bokhara Trumpeter
The Bokhara Trumpeter is a heavily ornamented trumpeter pigeon associated with Central Asian pigeon traditions and later European show lofts. It carries abundant feathering, often including a large shell crest, heavy foot muffs, and full body feather, along with the voice expected from the trumpeter group. The breed has a soft, rounded, richly feathered appearance rather than the lean outline of flying pigeons.
Bokhara Trumpeters need clean, dry loft floors because heavy muffs and loose feathering are easily soiled or broken. Wide perches, bathing water, and nest areas that protect feather quality are useful. Breeders should not ignore fertility, breathing, and parenting, since extreme feather can make ordinary loft tasks harder. The call, crest, muff size, and body fullness all matter, but a healthy bird that can breed reliably is the foundation of a lasting line.
