Bucharest Show Tumbler
The Bucharest show tumbler is a Romanian fancy pigeon developed from the same urban tumbler culture that produced several Bucharest flying breeds. In this form, selection is aimed mainly at exhibition type rather than long flight or aerial performance. Birds are expected to show a compact, balanced body, alert carriage, clean feathering, and the head, beak and eye expression called for by the Romanian standard. Colors and markings vary by line, with many of the usual domestic-pigeon patterns represented.
In the loft, Bucharest show tumblers are managed like small to medium fancy pigeons: secure housing, dry air, individual nest spaces, mineral grit, and steady handling before shows. Because short-faced or strongly styled tumblers can become harder to breed if extremes are pushed, practical fanciers keep an eye on fertility, chick feeding, and basic vigor. A buyer looking for flying ability should ask specifically, as birds bred for the show bench may no longer behave like traditional working tumblers.
