Czech Ice Pouter
The Czech Ice Pouter is a cropper or pouter pigeon from the Czech fancy tradition, recognized for pale ice-blue coloring combined with the inflated crop and upright display expected in pouter breeds. The ice color gives the bird a cool, diluted appearance, while the pouter structure supplies height, stance, and courtship character. It is an exhibition breed, not a homing or racing pigeon.
Care should support both feather color and cropper soundness. Birds need clean bathing water, dry lofts, roomy compartments, and perches that allow a natural upright posture. Breeders should select for a balanced globe, correct ice tone, strong legs, and reliable breeding. Overemphasis on crop size can harm movement or mating, while poor feather care can dull the color that gives the breed its name.
