Eichbühl
Eichbühl is a little-known regional fancy pigeon of the domestic rock dove, Columba livia, usually discussed within central European exhibition pigeon circles. The name is German-speaking and is often linked to local Swiss or neighboring regional breeding traditions rather than to a widely distributed commercial breed. It is best understood as a specialist variety maintained for a defined show standard: proportion, carriage, feather finish, and exact colour or marking are more important than utility production or racing ability.
Because references and breeding stock can be scarce, fanciers should use a current club standard and avoid buying on the name alone. A sound Eichbühl loft is managed like other small fancy pigeon lofts, with dry housing, good ventilation, and stable pairs during the breeding season. Stewardship of rare regional breeds depends on exchanging unrelated birds, culling only for serious faults, and keeping enough youngsters to preserve vigor as well as appearance.
