Eisk Double-Crested Tumbler
The Eisk double-crested tumbler is an obscure tumbler pigeon variety, known mainly through specialist breed lists and regional fancy pigeon circles. It is a domesticated rock dove selected for the combination of tumbler ancestry and conspicuous cresting, with the double-crested label indicating a front and rear crest or two separate feather formations depending on the standard used. The breed's value is in its profile, head furnishing, and neat body type; any aerial tumbling ability should be verified in the particular family rather than assumed from the name.
Crested tumblers need the same clean, dry loft conditions as other fancy pigeons, but extra attention goes to head feathering. Crests should not cover the eyes, trap dirt, or make the bird easy for loft mates to pick. Breeders usually pair for symmetry of crest, sound fertility, and a compact tumbler build. Since the variety is not widely kept, reliable identification depends on experienced breeders and the standard used in the country where the birds are shown.
