Flying Tippler
The Flying Tippler is a performance pigeon bred for very long endurance flights. Tipplers are judged by duration, steadiness, and trapping discipline rather than speed, tumbling, or racing from distant release points. Good birds climb, range, and remain aloft for many hours under experienced handling, then return and trap according to the loft routine. The breed's value is proved in the air, not by color or pen appearance.
Flying Tipplers demand careful management. Training builds gradually, and feed is adjusted to support stamina without upsetting trapping behavior. Birds need a clean loft, reliable water, grit, rest, and protection from predators. Breeders should select for endurance, steady temperament, orientation, recovery after long flights, and families that hold condition through repeated work. Weather, hawks, and the timing of the dropper routine can affect results as much as inherited stamina. Show-type Tipplers may share ancestry, but a true flying strain should have performance records behind it.
