The Giant Mallorquina Runt is a large Spanish domestic pigeon associated with Mallorca and the runt or giant form-pigeon tradition. Runt breeds are valued for body size, depth, bone, and calm utility character, not for high flying or rolling. A heavy runt needs generous housing, broad nest bowls, and secure footing to prevent leg and keel problems. Feed should support breeding and squab growth without creating soft, inactive adults. Breeders choose for size only when it comes with fertility, sound movement, and reliable parenting. In rare or imported lines, quarantine, source documentation, and enough unrelated pairs are important because a single impressive bird cannot maintain a healthy family.
