Hannover Tumbler
The Hannover tumbler is a German tumbler breed associated with Hanover, developed from domestic pigeons selected for a neat tumbler outline and local show type. It belongs with the many city and regional tumblers of Germany, where names often preserve the place of origin as much as a single color. Performance may remain in some families, but exhibition selection has shaped many modern lines.
Daily care is ordinary for clean, active pigeons: dry ventilation, secure nest boxes, grit, baths, and room to exercise. If birds are flown, youngsters should be trained patiently and watched for predators and unsafe rolling. Breeders select for head, beak, eye, body carriage, color, and vigor. Buyers should ask whether the loft keeps Hannover tumblers for show, flight, or both, because management goals differ.
