Hódmezövásárhelyer Show Crest Tumbler
The Hódmezövásárhelyer Show Crest Tumbler is a Hungarian tumbler breed named for Hódmezővásárhely. Hungarian sources link it with older regional keringő, or circling tumbler, pigeons, with selection fixing a show crest and a medium-sized body suited to the exhibition pen. It belongs to the tumbler and highflyer side of the fancy, but the modern name emphasizes crest and show type as much as any flight history.
These pigeons need the usual active-tumbler care: dry housing, regular exercise, clean baths, grit, and patient handling. The crest should be correctly formed without interfering with vision or comfort. Breeders compare body slope, head, crest, tail carriage, feather quality, color, and vigor after the molt. Because the long Hungarian name is often transliterated, buyers should rely on photographs, club references, and breeder knowledge rather than spelling alone.
