Hungarian
Hungarian, when used as a pigeon breed label, usually points to a domestic pigeon family from Hungary rather than to one uniform international type. Older English sources sometimes use broad Hungarian names for large utility or house pigeons, while modern lists separate Hungarian Giant, Hungarian Cropper, Hungarian Highflyer, Buga, and other regional breeds. The exact meaning therefore depends on the standard and the birds in front of the buyer.
A cautious keeper should treat this as a provenance-sensitive label. Ask whether the pigeons are utility, highflyer, cropper, tumbler, or exhibition stock, and compare them with the relevant Hungarian standard. Daily care is ordinary pigeon management, but breeding goals differ sharply by type. Keeping source notes, bands, and photographs prevents a vague Hungarian name from replacing real selection for body, color, performance, or crop traits.
