Kiskunfelegyhaza Tumbler
The Kiskunfelegyhaza tumbler is a Hungarian fancy pigeon associated with Kiskunfélegyháza, a town on the Great Plain. Its name is often printed without accents in English-language pigeon lists. The breed sits among Central European tumblers descended from the domestic rock dove, selected by local fanciers for a neat body, lively carriage, and details of head, beak, eye, and markings set out in specialist standards.
This is not a commercial pigeon and is most often found through breed clubs, shows, or older Hungarian lines. Some birds may be flown, but many rare regional tumblers are now kept mainly for exhibition and conservation of type. A practical loft program uses clean, dry housing, a steady grain and mineral diet, and enough space for exercise. Because the breeding pool can be narrow, exchanging unrelated stock and avoiding overly close matings are more important than producing unusual colors quickly.
