Koenigsberg Reinaugen Tumbler
The Koenigsberg Reinaugen tumbler is a German and East Prussian domestic pigeon from the Königsberg tumbler family. Reinaugen is generally understood by fanciers as referring to a clear or pure eye character, a feature that helps separate it from related color-head and moorhead varieties. It is a small to medium fancy tumbler descended from Columba livia, valued for compact type, alert expression, and the regional appearance preserved in older German standards.
Modern keepers usually manage the breed as an exhibition and preservation pigeon, although active birds benefit from safe loft exercise. Eye quality, head proportions, body balance, and feather condition are best judged in good light and with calm handling. Since the breed is uncommon outside specialist circles, new owners should verify the strain, ask how the birds have been bred, and keep simple pairing records. Sound fertility and parent feeding should carry as much weight as the eye and color details that define the variety.
