Low Silesian Muffed Tumbler
From the Lower Silesia region, now associated mainly with southwestern Poland and neighboring historical German pigeon culture, the Low Silesian Muffed Tumbler is a Central European fancy pigeon. It is a domestic Columba livia tumbler type distinguished by muffs, the feathering carried on the feet and lower legs. The name separates it from other Silesian tumblers and makes both its regional origin and foot feathering central to its identity.
Lofts for muffed tumblers need dry floors, smooth perches, and nest areas that do not break or foul the foot feathers. Exhibition breeders select for correct type, clean muffs, symmetry, color, and steady handling, while any flying lines need enough exercise to stay fit. Foot feathering should be checked during wet weather and breeding, since broken quills, packed dirt, or tight debris can affect comfort and presentation.
