Modern Show Flight
The modern show Flight is an exhibition pigeon developed from the flight pigeon side of the fancy, with selection directed toward style, color, and show-room presence rather than daily distance work. It is related in spirit to birds once valued for home loft flying, but modern show lines are judged mainly on conformation, station, head, feather condition, and clean color presentation.
Keepers should not assume that a modern show Flight will behave like a racing homer or a performance highflier. Management is closer to other exhibition pigeons: careful pairing, clean feather maintenance, and conditioning for handling and judging. Breeders still benefit from preserving vigor and alertness, since a show pigeon with a flight background should look active and balanced rather than soft.
