Muntenia White-Tail Tumbler
The Muntenia white-tail tumbler is a Romanian tumbler pigeon associated with Muntenia, the southern region around Bucharest and the Wallachian plain. It is a domesticated rock pigeon selected for a clear white tail set against a colored body, along with the compact build and animated manner typical of local tumbler breeds. Translated names vary, so it may also be described as a Muntenian white-tailed tumbler or a white-tail tumbler from Muntenia.
Fanciers keep it for flying, exhibition, and preservation of regional pigeon culture. If flown, young birds are settled close to the loft and trained in small groups before being asked to range higher or longer. Pair selection should consider the sharpness of the tail marking, but also wing strength, orientation, temperament, and reliable parenting. In rare lines, buyers are wise to look beyond a single attractive color pattern and ask how the family performs and breeds.
