Nish Highflyer
Nish highflyer is another English spelling for the Niš or Nis highflyer, a Serbian domestic pigeon from the Niš area. It was developed for high-altitude, long-duration flying in the southeastern European highflyer tradition. The typical bird is athletic and responsive, with color and minor head features less important than the ability to rise, hold height, and return to the same loft after training.
The breed is best understood as a working flying pigeon, even when exhibited by local fanciers. New owners need birds from a loft that still flies them, plus guidance on settling, feeding, and release routines. Heavy feeding, irregular training, or frequent disturbance can spoil performance. Because English spellings differ, pedigree or sale records should clarify whether Nish, Nis, and Niš refer to the same regional strain in that context.
