Norwich Cropper
Norwich cropper is an English cropper pigeon linked with the old fancy of Norwich and eastern England. It is valued for a rounded, well-carried crop, upright stance, and the lively display typical of pouter and cropper breeds. Compared with giant pouters, the Norwich cropper is generally discussed as a more compact exhibition bird, with the crop, station, and symmetry doing much of the visual work.
Fanciers keep Norwich croppers for show, breeding, and the pleasure of their animated courtship display. Good management keeps the birds fit enough to move naturally while protecting the large crop from rough handling or cramped loft conditions. Selection usually favors a clean outline, confident carriage, sound legs, and a crop that inflates smoothly rather than appearing loose, sagging, or forced.
