Novisad Short-Faced Tumbler
Novisad short-faced tumbler is a Serbian tumbler pigeon associated with Novi Sad and the wider Balkan fancy. The name signals two things at once: a compact tumbler background and a shortened face that shapes the head into a show feature. In many short-faced tumbler families, the old performance heritage remains part of the identity even when modern birds are judged mainly on head, beak, eye, body balance, and color.
Care calls for the same caution used with other short-faced varieties. Breeders need to protect vigor, feeding ability, and sound rearing while selecting for the compact head and local standard. Some lofts may still value flying activity, but many birds are managed as exhibition stock, with clean housing, low-stress pairing, and close attention to young birds that need extra observation around weaning.
