Pappatacci
The Pappatacci is an uncommon domestic pigeon name found in European fancy-pigeon references, most often as a regional or specialist variety rather than a widely standardized international breed. It belongs to Columba livia, the same species as homers, rollers, and other domestic pigeons, but the label is thinly documented outside specialist lists. In practice, it may refer to a local strain maintained for appearance and loft tradition, with colors described through ordinary pigeon terms such as blue, black, ash red, almond, grizzle, or dilute.
Anyone trying to obtain Pappatacci pigeons should ask for photographs of parents, the standard used by the breeder, and evidence that the birds breed reasonably true. Management is the standard small-loft routine: dry ventilation, grit and minerals, clean nest bowls, and protection from predators and feral pigeons. Because rare regional names are easily confused in trade, keeping notes on origin and pairings is more useful than relying on the name alone.
