Polish Long-Faced Tumbler
The Polish long-faced tumbler is a Polish breed of domestic pigeon, Columba livia, whose name separates it from the short-faced and short-beaked tumblers found in the same regional fancy. Long-faced in pigeon terminology refers to a longer foreface and beak proportion, not to a different species or a racing homer type. The breed is usually valued for a balanced head, lively expression, trim body, and the classic action and temperament expected of tumblers.
Because the beak is less extreme than in short-faced varieties, these birds are often simpler to keep and may rear their own squabs more reliably. They still need a clean, predator-proof loft, regular exercise, and controlled feeding so they do not lose type through excess weight. Breeding decisions tend to focus on head length, beak set, feather quality, and color clarity; crossing to shorter-faced stock can quickly change the look and should be done only with a clear standard in mind.
