Pomeranian Cropper
Long associated with Pomerania on the southern Baltic coast, the Pomeranian cropper is a large domestic pigeon breed from the cropper or pouter group. Like other croppers, it is bred to inflate the crop into a rounded globe. It has a tall, upright exhibition outline, often with a strong body, long legs, and feathered feet, and may be encountered under the name Pomeranian Pouter.
Management centers on keeping these big display birds clean, dry, and fit rather than on flight performance. Deep clean litter or well-kept floors help protect foot feathering, and roomy nest boxes reduce broken feathers and egg accidents. Breeders pair for balanced globe, straight stance, vigor, and dependable parenting; very extreme birds may need closer observation during pairing and chick rearing. Finding unrelated stock can take contact with pouter clubs or European lines.
