Prague Medium-Faced Tumbler
In the Prague tumbler family, the Prague medium-faced tumbler is named for its intermediate beak and face length. It sits between very short-faced exhibition tumblers and longer-faced flying types, giving it a more moderate head while retaining the compact, alert look of a tumbler. As a domestic Columba livia breed, it may occur in many colors and patterns, with show standards emphasizing head, beak, eye, carriage, and feather finish.
Most are kept for exhibition and preservation rather than serious homing work. The moderate facial structure can make routine feeding and chick rearing easier than in extreme short-faced breeds, but pair vigor still deserves attention. A clean, dry loft and low-stress handling help keep birds in show condition. Breeders compare youngsters closely as the head develops, because small differences in beak length and expression determine whether a bird fits the medium-faced type.
