Romanian Barred Highflyer
Romanian barred highflyer is a highflyer pigeon from the Romanian fancy, identified by barred plumage as well as its highflyer background. Highflyers are traditionally selected for endurance, height, orientation, and kit behavior rather than the rapid rolling expected of rollers. The barred label adds a visible color requirement, so the bird is not simply any Romanian flying pigeon with wing bars.
Management depends on whether the loft keeps true flying lines or exhibition-oriented stock. Flying birds need gradual conditioning, safe release times, and protection from overwork in heat, wind, or predator-heavy areas. Breeders watch stamina, homing to the loft, temperament, and bar quality. Show-focused keepers may emphasize pattern and type more heavily, but a highflyer name still carries an expectation of athletic, healthy birds.
