Romanian Magpie Tumbler
Romanian magpie tumbler is a Romanian tumbler variety marked in a magpie pattern, with contrasting dark and light areas arranged according to the local standard. The breed name combines a performance-family word with a visual pattern word, which is common in regional pigeon keeping. It is not simply any pied tumbler; the magpie pattern needs to be consistent enough to define the variety.
Keepers breed Romanian magpie tumblers for clean marking, sound body type, and whatever degree of tumbler activity their line is expected to retain. White areas need clean loft conditions, while colored areas should remain strong and even through molt. Pairings often involve tradeoffs between pattern precision and vigor, so careful records help. If birds are flown, moderate training is better than pushing show-marked stock into risky conditions.
