Saxon White-Tail
The Saxon white-tail is a German color pigeon defined by a white tail set against the color and markings expected for the variety. Tail color is easy to name but demanding to breed cleanly, because stray colored feathers, uneven borders, or weak body type can spoil an otherwise attractive bird. It belongs with the Saxon regional marked pigeons rather than with tumblers, pouters, or utility runts.
Care should protect the tail as much as the rest of the bird. Perches, nest boxes, and flooring need to reduce staining and feather breakage, particularly before shows. Breeders should select for a clean white tail, but also for fertility, sound legs, and the correct breed type. Mismarked birds may be useful in some breeding programs, so the best decisions come from knowing the family and recording what each pairing produces over several rounds.
