Serbian Highflyer
The Serbian highflyer is a performance pigeon from Serbia, especially associated with sustained high-altitude kit flying. Unlike a roller bred to turn over in the air or a show homer bred for pen type, the Serbian highflyer is valued for climbing, holding station, and staying aloft as a team. Birds are usually compact and athletic, with color secondary to endurance, orientation, and the steadiness of the kit once it has settled into its flight.
A useful Serbian highflyer loft is managed around routine. Young birds need patient trapping, gradual release work, and careful feeding so they build time in the air without becoming scattered or overflown. Fanciers watch weather closely, because wind, heat, and poor visibility can turn a good training day into a loss. Breeding decisions often come from observed flight records within the loft: which families climb honestly, return reliably, and pass on calm kit behavior.
