Stork Pigeon de Lodz
Stork pigeon de Lodz, also written as the Lodz Stork pigeon, is a Polish fancy pigeon associated with the city of Lodz. It is a domestic rock-dove breed named for stork-like markings, usually understood as a light-bodied bird with contrasting dark areas that recall the black flight feathers of a white stork. In European breed lists the French wording de Lodz may appear beside Polish or German names, and exact color placement should be checked against the relevant standard.
Fanciers keep this breed mainly for exhibition and preservation of its marking pattern. Clean housing and regular bathing help pale feathers stay presentable, while careful pairing is needed because stork markings can drift toward too much or too little color. The birds require normal pigeon feeding, grit and secure nesting, but selection should not stop at appearance. Strong parents, clear eyes, smooth feathering and calm loft behavior make the difference between a pretty marked pigeon and a sustainable breeding family.
