Syrian Sabuni Tumbler
The Syrian Sabuni tumbler is a Syrian domestic pigeon strain in the tumbler tradition, with the name usually transliterated from Arabic and sometimes handled differently by clubs or local fanciers. It is a Columba livia breed shaped for active kit flying and controlled aerial rolls rather than for racing. Color families can be broad, but the identity of a Sabuni bird usually rests on its regional line, body type, and performance reputation.
Working tumblers need routine: young birds are settled to the loft, flown in manageable groups, and fed enough to stay fit without becoming heavy. Safe rolling matters more than dramatic depth, because unstable birds may strike roofs or become easy prey. For breeders, the practical questions are whether the parents still perform, whether they rear squabs reliably, and whether the line has been maintained with enough genetic diversity to stay hardy.
