Szekesfehervar Tumbler
The Szekesfehervar tumbler is a Hungarian domestic pigeon breed named for Székesfehérvár, a historic city in central Hungary. It belongs to the tumbler tradition of Columba livia, where local breeders selected lively, well-proportioned pigeons for agile flight and recognizable regional type. Outside Hungary the breed is uncommon, and the spelling is often simplified without accents in English-language lists.
In practice, this pigeon is kept by specialists who value both heritage and performance. A roomy, dry loft and regular exercise are needed if birds are flown, along with attention to local predator pressure. Show-oriented families still benefit from fitness and normal breeding behavior. Prospective keepers should ask which club standard is being used, since body and head type may be judged differently from the tumbling ability of a flying family.
