Taqlaji
Taqlaji is a regional name used for a tumbler-type domestic pigeon in Middle Eastern and Turkish-influenced pigeon culture, with spelling and usage varying between communities. The word is closely tied to the idea of a pigeon that performs takla, or aerial somersaults, rather than to a heavily standardized exhibition breed. Birds described as Taqlaji may differ in color, head style, leg feathering, and size, but they are generally selected from Columba livia for agility, quick response to the loft, and a recognizable family style of tumbling.
Because the label is not always used the same way, practical evaluation matters more than a name on a sale list. A serious keeper will ask to see related birds fly, learn how the youngsters are started, and keep breeding notes on which pairs produce safe, consistent performers. These pigeons need the ordinary basics of a clean loft, seed and grain mix, grit, and protection from predators, but their real management centers on training, settling, and avoiding overwork during hot weather or molt.
