Thuringian White Bib
The Thuringian white Bib is a German color pigeon defined by a white bib marking set against a colored body. The name is plain, but the exhibition challenge is not. A good bib must sit in the right area, remain clean-edged, and fit a bird with the compact, balanced appearance expected in the Thuringian family. It is a pattern breed, not a working pigeon.
Breeders watch the throat and breast marking closely as young birds feather out. Bibs that run too far, shrink too much, or break unevenly can make a bird unsuitable for show even when the body and color are strong. Because white markings show every stain, loft cleanliness and dry nest bowls are practical parts of presentation. Pairing choices should protect both the bib and the underlying color. Buyers should ask whether the family consistently produces correct bib placement, since attractive adult color alone does not guarantee the pattern will breed true.
